Activities
Since its founding in 2023, TRANSFER has organized three academic conferences. In October 2024, Cristian Cámara Outes co-organized the conference "New Readings in Russian Formalism at the Crossroads of Slavic Cultural History" at the Université libre de Bruxelles, with papers by Andrés Pérez-Simón and Cámara himself. In May 2025, Andrés Pérez-Simón organized the 34th Conference of the Spanish James Joyce Association at the UAM, the first held at this university, on the theme "James Joyce, Reception and Literary Translation." TRANSFER will also play a central role in organizing the 16th Conference of El Ojo de Polisemo, a biennial event that has been the leading conference on editorial translation in Spain since 2009, which will be hosted at the UAM in 2028.
The invited lecture series, the group's main activity each academic year, brings together researchers and translation professionals in sessions open to faculty and graduate students.
